Play With Your Food is back – serving up lunch, theater and talk! The curtain rises on Play With Your Food’s 16th season of lunchtime theater in Greenwich with three riveting one-act plays read by professional actors, many of whom are currently featured on stage and screen. Doors open at 12 noon on January 24 and 25th at Greenwich Arts Council (200 Greenwich Avenue) for a delicious gourmet lunch catered by Meli Melo (Greenwich) followed by the playreadings and a discussion with the actors and director from 12:30 – 1:30 pm. January plays include Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning playwright Frank D. Gilroy’s Getting In (his autobiographical humorous and heartwarming tale of his rise from high school dropout to WWII G.I. all the way to the Ivy League), Scott Mullen’s humorous take on grown-ups finding their way back to The Sandbox; and Deborah Frockt’s Hard-Boiled, a timely look at politics in the workplace. Included in the cast this month is an impressive host of homegrown talent - Westport natives Jon-Michael Miller and Max Samuels, both stars on the rise with high profile projects recently completed. Miller was just featured in the 2017 Indie film The Real Stephen Blatt, co-written and directed by actor Justin Long (who grew up in Fairfield, CT!). He also starred in the well-received 2016 Indie film Paradise, FL. Max Samuels is currently appearing in Amazon’s new hit series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and can be seen making his off Broadway debut in Urban Stages’ Angry Young Man. Also featured is Wynter Kullman, whose television work includes Law and Order, C.S.I Miami and most recently, The Black List and the forthcoming Netflix movie Like Father, Brian J. Carter, appearing in the 2018 film Ocean’s 8 and Susan Jacobson. Play With Your Food is produced by JIB Productions of Westport, a not-for-profit arts organization committed to presenting high quality professional performing and visual arts programs primarily in southern Connecticut. JIB Productions is also the producer of SHORT CUTS, an annual film festival of award-winning and notable short films curated from the Tribeca Film Festival.
