Please join us for the Veteran's Day March down Greenwich Avenue.
Bring your children, friends and neighbors to the 5th Annual Community Patriotic Walk to Honor Veterans! Residents are invited to gather at the top of Greenwich Avenue at the Amogerone Crossway this Saturday, November 11 at 10:15 a.m.

Following the walk, the Greenwich Veterans Council, in cooperation with the American Legion Post 29 will host a ceremony at the monument in front of the Board of Education building on Greenwich Ave., at 11 a.m.



For Veterans:
Vets are invited for complimentary coffee / snacks at Pasta Vera (upper Greenwich Ave)  from 9:00 to 10:30.
 
At 10:30 the march will assemble at the intersection of Amergerone on Greenwich Avenue and will commence down the Avenue shortly thereafter.
 
The actual ceremony should begin at 11:00 am at the WWII / Korean War monument on lower Greenwich Ave (above the former Post Office / across form the Senior Center at Havermeyer). 
 
Peter LeBeau is the emcee. In addition to local leaders. Ed Vic (Vietnam War Vet) will be the guest speaker.
(There will also be clergy and youth leaders participating - if you need more info about these items please speak to Livvy or Erf Porter).
 
There will be wreath laying to honor fallen vets and taps).
 
(The Redman will host a free lunch with entertainment for veterans at their hall).
 
The Bruce Museum is offering free admission to all vets on Saturday and a WWI painting ("Miss Victory") by the late local impressionist painter, George Wharton Edwards will be on exhibit behind the front desk.  This painting is a gift of Edwards to American Legion Post 29 and is on loan to the Museum.
